Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) State Service Exam is conducted for recruitment to various posts in government departments and offices of the state of Madhya Pradesh.

MPPSC State Service exam is conducted every year for the post of:

Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Superintendent Jail, Commercial Tax Officer, District Registrar, Chief Municipal Officer (Group B), District Supply Officer, Child Development Project Officer, Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) and others.

MPPSC Exam consists of three stages-

Preliminary Examination

Mains

Examination Interview

1. Preliminary Exam Pattern-

The preliminary examination will consist of two papers of objective type (multiple choice questions).

(a). Paper 1 is “General Studies”

(b). Paper 2 is “General Aptitude”

Each question papers consists of 100 questions of 2 marks each.

The questions will have four probable answers, of which only one will be the correct answer. The time duration for each paper will be of 2 hours. Both papers can be attempted in Hindi or English.

Candidates must secure a minimum of 40% marks in each question paper of preliminary examination to be eligible for the main examination.

For Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Other Backward Class and Handicapped Candidates, the minimum qualifying marks will be 30%.

MPPSC Mains Exam Pattern-

MPPSC Mains is a written examination and consist of seven papers of conventional essay type questions. The time duration allotted to complete the paper will be 3 hours.

Interview-

Qualifying marks for the interview for unreserved candidates will be at least 33% marks in each paper and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/ Other Backward Class and Physically Handicapped categories the qualifying marks will be 23%.

After the interview, the candidates will be listed by the commission in the order of merit, according to the aggregate of marks obtained by them in the Main Examination and the interview taken together.

Areas of focus- Biodata, hobby, academics and job profile if the candidate is working. Current affairs, contemporary social issues, and government policies are other important topics for the interview.

Eligibility for MPPSC State Service Preliminary Exam 2019-

Age Limit: Candidates aged between 21 and 35 years of age are eligible to apply for MPPSC State Service Preliminary Exam.

Educational Qualification: Graduation in any discipline or equivalent qualification from a recognized university incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India.
